Task Chair-Steelcase Sensor Leather

The Sensor® chair was introduced in 1986 at NeoCon. An ergonomic chair scaled in three sizes, Sensor is designed to sense and support the body’s movements. Developed in concert with West German designer Wolfgang Müller-Deisig, the Sensor chair is first produced in June 1986. Steelcase employees build two largest dies, each weighing 45,000 pounds, solely for the manufacture of the new Sensor chair. As the first affordable high-performance office “living” chair that automatically adjusts to all body sizes and movements, Sensor has permeated pop culture, even featured multiple times throughout the 1990s on the "Late Show with David Letterman." More than just a cultural icon, the chair has been adapted to cultures all over the world from Saudi Arabia to Japan, where it was modified for use in Pachinko parlors.
